About Me
My name is Kim Koshnick, but you can also call me “Kimzy”. I am an illustrator, character designer, creature designer, and concept artist.
I am currently pursuing a BFA in Illustration at Montclair State University. I live in northern New Jersey and in proximity to New York City.
Creating characters has been a longtime passion of mine. Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a fascination with cartoon characters, how they acted, and their appearance. Through the work I create, I am proficient in creating fun-loving and, for the most part, friendly characters. Something about having a character to call my own brings me a sense of euphoria that I cannot describe, and I enjoy the process that comes when creating different characters.
I have experience with a multitude of mediums that include digital art, pen, ink, India ink, copic/alcoholic markers, graphite, acrylic paint, colored pencils, and watercolor. For digital art, I use the app Procreate. I have basic knowledge of 2D animation as well with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Occasionally, I like working with clay and sculpting. I also have experience with graphic design - creating logos and mascots.
While I’m not creating art, I like taking nature walks, going on the treadmill, thrifting, fishing, exploring different places, and spending quality time with loved ones. I really love the colors green (especially green), brown, and pink. Cottagecore, fairycore, and mosscore would be aesthetics that describe me. My other interests are cats, animals in general, matcha, and sushi.

I am currently searching for an internship/job as an illustrator, character designer, concept artist, editorial artist, and creature artist!
